Lewis Group posts lukewarm results

The Lewis Group has posted Lukewarm Results

In a trading update the Lewis Group who sells furniture and appliances posted lukewarm results of a 5.6% increase in revenue, and a 2.7% rise in merchandise sales for the quarter.

Ernest and Young have indicated that growth in retail sales volumes is likely to moderate further during the first half of 2013 as both real income growth and credit extension slow down.

Introduction

Master Retailing was established by its founder Eugene Beukes who has successfully been Managing Executive of six different brands, all being divisions of Alsi Top 40 companies listed on the JSE. Eugene has on an academic level completed his Masters Degree in Business Administration; Bachelors Degree in Business Administration; Senior Management Programme; Future Business Development Programme and is a certified "Future Business Analyst", Diploma in Industrial Relations and he is also qualified as an International Business Coach and has studied at the University of Pretoria; University of Cape Town Business School, the University of Stellenbosch Business School and the Management College of Southern Africa.

Master Retailing was established and came into existence as a result of three basic needs within the niche retail sector, and at time of formation were the pioneers, and the first and only company in South Africa to address these shortcomings though much needed dedicated services by retailers for retailers. The three shortfalls identified in the retail sector being:

- Shortage of affordable education coupled with practical understanding of the theory
- Retailers difficulty and budget constraints in recruiting quality individuals
- Lack of retail understanding and best practice, combined with service requirements of SMME’s

The Master Retailing Team is experts in their own respective fields covering all types of retailers and the entire retail value chain. As a result of the vast experience of the team through three separate divisions,they are able to address the gaps which are in existence within the retail industry via the following service offering:
